Our beginning
A Spearfish original
Dough Trader Pizza Company first opened for business on July 4, 2011. The restaurant is housed in a former Tastee Freeze that Tom Bell brought to Spearfish in the 1960s and that has remained in the Bell family ever since.
Kristen Bell remodeled the building in the spring of 2011, transforming it into the welcoming, one-of-a-kind restaurant it is today.
The dough
A starter with history
The restaurant opened in 2011, but the starter behind every crust carries a much longer history—dating back to the 1880s.
Each crust is made fresh on site, hand-stretched, stone-oven baked, and topped with fresh, quality ingredients.
